Engine Fitting

General fitting recommendations

It is important to find out why the original engine needs replacing. You should always determine the cause of, and resolve, any engine failure before fitting a VEGE remanufactured engine. If an existing defect has not been fixed, the resulting damage claim may not be covered by the VEGE warranty.

It is therefore essential that all ancilliary equipment is checked and, if necessary replaced. Failure to comply with this could result in severe damage to your VEGE exchange unit; the resulting damage could invalidate your warranty.

All VEGE exchange products should be subjected to a visual inspection before accepting delivery, any damage found after the carrier has left is your responsibility.

We recommend that the following ancilliary items are checked and replaced with either new or reconditioned items, if found unserviceable.

  • Carburettor / Fuel injection equipment
  • Distributor and ignition system
  • Radiator, viscous fan and cooling system
  • Oil and water sensors
  • Engine breating system (PCV)
  • Manifolds
  • Flywheel, pulleys and crankshaft dampers
  • EGR valves should be cleaned (were possible), or replaced
  • All other fitted items
  • Prior to the fitting of all ancilliary items, you must ensure they are cleaned carefully and thoroughly.

Always fit a new air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, thermostat, sparkplugs of the correct grade, belts, gaskets, and fill the engine with oil and coolant as per OEM recommendations.

Failure to ensure all ancilliary items, manifolds and pipes are thoroughly cleaned and serviceable may result in debris ingress, from the previous failure, into your VEGE exchange unit and will invalidate your VEGE warranty.
